The 4 pots should be pretty good even without braided hoses, but you might want to bleed them rather more thoroughly. I think the sequence is 1st RNS, 2nd FOS, 3rd ROS, 4th FNS. Start with the caliper furthest from the brake fluid resovoir.
If driving on track a lot then you may benefit from up-grading the brake fluid to DOT 5.1 (Don't use DOT 5.0). DOT5.1 has a higher boiling point and therefore can maintain a firmer pedal for longer.

Braided hoses and a servo stiffening bracket made a big difference on mine. In fact a bit over firm to start with. Soon got used to it though.

Servo bracket explaination here:

Rob has actually taken this one step forward and relocated the servo completely, this reduces the length of linkage between the pedal and the servo and increase feel. I'm sure Rob will post details on his site shortly.

I have a standard 1.8i with the Girling sliding calipers and 240mm discs.
I have converted to 280mm discs with the standard calipers and fitted braided hoses. My pedal feel is now superb.
One thing with 4 pot conversions is that often the overall piston area specified is greater than with standard sliding calipers as it gives you greater braking force for a given pedal pressure. But it also increases travel and reduces feel. (I do not know the piston diameters for the APs so can't say how much they are affected by this).
Fit braided hoses as they are not very expensive, easy to do and will have a good benefit. Also you will need to rebleed the system afterwards so use decent DOT5.1 fluid.

I best on to the good old demontweeks order page then!
Dot 5.1 and braided hoses will do for now,
Plus i think ill fit the bracket too its looks to do the job good enough
Thanks all
