22/04/2008 17:34:50 CR15COX Hi all, bit of background to start :) had hgf trouble at christmas so sent car off to Mike Satur for rebuild, maintenance and upgrades to head, spent over 2k on getting it sorted for track use :eek: ran about the country and town with no problems also did silverstone trackday with none. then came snetty... checked oil and coolant, tyre tread and pressures oh and fuel :p the night before leaving lincoln approx 110 miles all ok got to travel lodge went to bed got to track in morn checked all fluids and usual gubbins (all ok) so off i went. did three sessions then on fourth my engine bacame very loud, lost power and stalled at low revs, some ideas thrown about on the day were - dropped a valve - skipped a tooth or two on cam belt - vvc unit gone (??) - its F****d :( anyway its going back to mike tomorrow for a strip down and diagnostic. what i want is to know what i should beef up while its apart this time to prevent this from happening again. i love trackdays and want to keep my car for this purpose so would like it to be reliable and pretty quick :D any advice as always is greatly appreciated thanks
