No reply, but I see from elsewhere that it probably was you.
So you’ve done five track days without complaint ? So five times you’ve been told ‘don’t overtake on the corners’ and ‘overtake only by consent’ ? We don’t go to track days to complain or spoil peoples fun, but I complained about you because not once, but twice, you overtook our car on a corner, and certainly without consent. You started the move as we entered the corner, sailed around the outside and moved ahead on the exit. I complained about you because you were driving with inadequate care and risked freaking my partner out of ever doing another trackday.
Not only did you completely ignore the clear instructions you’d been given on the day and on four previous occasions, not only did you bully your way past a nervous novice driver – without consent - but you crowned your total lack of thought by failing to consider that novices are learners ... and learners make mistakes.
Had my partner, in a state of nervousness as the corner approached, not looked in the mirror and seen you there, had she taken anything like the racing line, there could have been contact. Had she flapped at finding you alongside and backed off mid corner, she could have spun (did it myself on my first trackday) and taken your MGB for a visit to the sprouts and turkeys or whatever grows in the Norfolk countryside.
I didn’t see you in session 4, but did in session 6 – you certainly held off overtaking on the corner (good !) but I did notice you tailing very close to the car in front of you, which is again harassment – and again, had that car lost it, he could have taken you out, both cars would have been damaged in an incident that you could have prevented.
I urge you a) think more about how you drive and what could happen if things start to get out of control, b) assume that they’re more likely to get out of control for a car with a ‘N’ sticker and c) leave the harrassment at home – it's very uncomfortable for the driver in front - especially a novice, and remember many of us (including yourself ?) are driving our ‘pride and joy’ and don’t want it bashed. MGoT days are supposed to be friendly fun ! If it’s any help, I use the odd half lap hold-up to concentrate on practising technique and precision, rather than outright speed – it’s quite enjoyable in a different sort of way – and useful training for when the track ahead is clear.
Best regards

Have I logged onto Cliosport.net:D
I really hope this MGoT forum doesn't get like some others where members use it as a way to argue their point all day long.

Joe
Joe's right - we use this forum to help each other out and offer up constructive comments on how to make the days better in the future.
The other thread (Brilliant day - but ... ) ended up doing exactly that - having a good discussion on the use of the N sticker and the difficult balance between the experienced and the less experienced sharing the track.
We dealt with the specifics of this particular situation at Snetterton in the normal way - passing on a complaint and asking for consideration of the other person's view in future. I'm not sure it helps to use the forum to re-visit this. Too often, as Joe highlights, forum posts can degenerate to slanging matches, which doesn't help any of us.
Please may I appeal to both parties in this specific situation to exercise politeness and restraint on the forum. Of course, I'd be happy to receive further comment from either of you individually (to my email address) if you feel that the discussion we had on the day was inadequate.
Many thanks,
Dave

Sorry Chaps (and Chapesses), from his post I gathered that Alan had not got the message 'on the day'.
I had hoped that my comments were constructive - certainly not unfriendly - feel free to remove the thread if you think it best.
Cheers

Peter
Hi Peter,
No need to remove the thread - I just wanted to make sure things didn't deteriorate as we see happen all too often on other forums. Hence Joe's comment I think.
We all know how 'the written word' can be misconstrued so easily and I'm sure you weren't meaning to be unfriendly. :)
Yes, we did deal with the matter on the day, as we always try to. But, as I said, if it wasn't satisfactory for either you or Alan then I'd hope to hear from you by email rather than on here.
Many thanks,
Dave
