Hi ..Anyone fitted Goodridge braided hoses to a ZR 160s brakes ??? I tried today and found several apparant problems .. Extra fixing brackets that could not be removed .. Also the hoses that Goodridge said should be for the rears were not long enough .. But the ones that they said were for the front fitted perfect lenght wise .... Any comments appreciated ...Gary ...

Can't help with the ZR Gary. What I do know is that Chris tried to fit some Goodrich hoses on his ZS180 this weekend. Fronts were fine once we'd cut the necessary brackets off the old hoses. Rears were totally the wrong fitment. He has a banjo onto the cylinder but the hoses were threaded. Didnt feel able to get over that one  Don't think its Goodrich so much as the retailer. Did you get them from brakes4u by any chance :( I did my Trophy too and everything was fine.

Hi Tim ..I ordered my hoses from Demon Tweeks who then ordered them from Goodridge ..Took 3 weeks to arrive but not a problem .... Its realy weird that after talking to G/R they still say the shortest hose is for the rears ( but it aint long enough ) and the longest hose is for the fronts , but it fits the rears and has an Extra bracket ... The shortest hose seems to fit the fronts OK .... Hope you can follow all this .... As I said , long hoses have been returned to G/R to remove extra fixing bracket ... Hope all will fit then ..

Dont touch it. So if it aint broke , and you can live with it , dont try to fix or improve it ... I can only hope that my new brake hoses can be bled of air before Bedford on Saturday ... How can a simple job like this turn into a 2 days of stress ???? If you realy want to know Mail me ..

My update .. So I wrote an update a while ago only to be told I was not logged in.. So here goes for this posting .....:p Before I went to Bedford my " Team " told me they could not get a firm brake pedal after fitting the Goodrich Braided hoses ... In the end they fitted the hoses G/rich said were for the front ,,,to the rear ,,,and the rears to the fronts... That was after G/rich had removed the extra unused bracket .... We were still unhappy with the "FEEL" of the brakes but we went to Bedford and had a great time ...NO problems .. So we then checked the discs and pads and the " Team" said they could only suggest changing the pads all round ... So if you have to change the pads and the discs are pretty worn go for the whole set up ..That can be expensive ..:( I have changed all discs and pads in 1 go .... EBC grooved and dotted discs and new Green Stuff pads.. The feel has changed dramatically ...Normal road use feels great ...:) Will tell you about Track Day after Silverstone .... What I can tell you is that the Red Stuff pads I put in last July laster 7000 miles which included 4 Track Days ... And the front pads were down to the metal ...... I will report how the Green Pads perform at a later date ... Moral of this story is check your discs and pads FREQUENTLY .....

I did this and... Well at least my local dealer did. I had EBC G&D discs and Green Stuff pads fitted at the same time. I got the hoses from Brakes4U. They have fitted the hoses with triangular brackets to the rear - but not attached them to anything - an the others to the front. They had considerable trouble bleeding the brakes and the pedal feels little different to what it was before - and nowherenear as positive as the same setup on our TF160. Braking from 105ish for Stowe yesterday was "exciting" as there was a random pull to one side or the other which concentrated the mind. I now wonder whether the hoses are fitted correctly and whether I can get a better pedal myself - without the extortionate charges. Anyone know a good independent automotive service engineer in SE Hampshire? Rgds, Paul

You're also welcome to come to the MG-Rover.org MGF/TF servicing day that I'm organising in June.
