I spent most of yesterday giving the pad retaining pins on my TF160 a good percussive talking to, with no result but two broken parallel punches and slightly burred ends to the pins. Heat from a blowtorch didn't seem to make any difference. Although the workshop manual says use a punch, is there a less agricultural method of removing the pins? Failing this, can they be pressed out if I remove the calipers? Does anyone know of anyone in the SE Hampshire area that could get them out? Only other option would appear to be new calipers, which seems a bit excessive on a 4 year old car. Rgds, Paul

Never heard of this being a problem before. The APs have pins with a little spring collet which locates into the pin bore at the back of the calliper. Something strange about your problem, if I recall, you can't see much of the ends of the pins untill you have punched them out of the front bore. Hopefully you're driving them from the outside of the car inward.
