second that a good day.

It was good fun and again thanks to everyone who stood out in the cold and damp so we could play, I kept the roof down in sympathy.
The Midget domination of the 2nd slalom was the highlight of the day, don't think my car will remain standard for too long now.
I have some very interesting patterns on the tyres, squeaky front shocks, a silencer held on with electrical wire and a washer bottle that's been doing a tour of the engine bay. Odd, the car seemed fine this morning!

A big thanks to all those who stood out in the cold and wet so we could enjoy ourselves.
B awful journey home but worth it.

Agreed, the M25 was 'orrible :(
Well, at least it didn't snow... I've never seen the surface that slippery except when it has a sheet of ice over it, so congratulations to anyone who managed the 90 degree bend at a decent speed ;) Good to see some familiar faces and lots of new ones.
A few people asked if there will be another later in the year; Andy Walsh is heavily booked up for 2007 but we'll certainly look into what dates he has available.
We look forward to seeing all those vouchers being used for the Brands Hatch event, the perfect opportunity to put into practice all the tips and pointers Andy was dishing out while they're fresh in your memory :) Paddock Hill Bend is much less daunting when you know exactly what your car is going to do when you make a hard right turn at motorway speeds - more  and less
Looking forward to the next one already :)

The M25 was the worst I've seen coming back from North Weald :( Still we had a good day with the weather being relatively kind to intrepid band of helpers - cold but not too damp. A big thank you to:

Stu Dickens
Ralph Gadsby
Mike Hankin
Andrew Phillips
Peter Standen
Neil Sutton
Steve White
Neil Willetts
I hope they all enjoyed the day too and managed to get a little bit of playtime in amongst their marshalling duties.
We already have our next date with Andy Walsh at North Weald - it's 24th August :D

I just want to add my thanks to Dave, Andy and all who organized the day. As a complete novice I did not know what to expect. Andy's drip feeding of instructions and tips each time I lined up for the ninty degree bend were great. With a longer straight my standard spec B may have been able to reach the 60 mph that Andy told me not to exceed on the first run! Hey Ho, I will definately be at Brands Hatch in July.
Oh, why Beaujolais? Well when I purchased the B back in 1988 there was a nasty "whine" from the back axle!! Now sorted.

Photo's in Gallery
Hi all,
The best of the photo's I took yeasterday are now in the gallery. If your car is not there please accept my apologies, it was a hard day for snapping, the rain was straight into the lens all day:mad: Several shots are complete rubbish due the lens trying to focus on the rain drops on it:confused:
If anybody wants copies then send me a private message with the number and I'll get them to you.
As for the M25, well in October 4 hours to get back to Hythe, Southampton:eek: going arond Heathrow way.
Great success going Dartford tunnel way:) ................3 hours 55 mins:p
C U at Snetterton.:D
Cheers, Martin

The Chap in the MGB V8!
I just wanted to thank the organisers and all the MG owners for a very entertaining day being a complete novice it was an eye opener for me and great fun.
I don't know the chaps name in the BV8 but thanks for the demonstration, I want your car!;)
The second slalom had to be my favourite all the midgets seem to enjoy that one, I'm still chuffed with my fastest time of the day:D but I would like my wing mirror back which was hit by a cone which jumped out at me:o
Hopefully look forward to meeting some of you again at brands beginners evening.
Regards, Jon (in the little yellow midget who couldn't get around any corners)
