Hi there
Yep good video but what we are looking for is one with all our fellow MG'ers on circuit for part of the promo video we use at various events to hopefully attract others once they see how safe it is and how sensible you all are !!
:D
Stu
PS I have an old camcorder but it runs on steam:eek:, I'm just dusted it down to see if i can get it working

camcorder
I have an old VHS camcorder too. Hopefully on the day I will have a few people around to take some trackside vid and maybe can try to mount the camera in the car for a session. I will look at my options for mounting it safely.
Out withthe gaffer tape and G Cramps.

It has to be a proper camera mount Nigel or the scrutineers wont allow you on the track with it so gaffer tape wont work
something like this

Even some of the sucker type are rejected

I have looked at the options for placing a camera in the car and dont think i willhave time to sort this before the event. First time out I have considered it may also be a distraction. I will ask the entourage if some trackside vid is possible though.

Hi Guys
I'm taking my camcorder and a passenger to operate it. The camera has just had its initiation at Disneyworld and is now ready for some real work. Will those headrest bar camers supports pass scrutineering - they're the cheapest I've seen as yet, but I was really looking at a windscreen mounted support so I can use it in the Land Rover for off road sessions as well.

Dodger,
Hand holding cameras or camcorders is not advised - circuits respond by removing your camera until the end of the day or removing you! I know no one plans to do anything silly but thing about the bloke in front throwing half a brick at you while doing 100 mph.
A bolted or clamped mount is usually OK, but expect a suction cup type mount to be judged unfit.

I repeat what I said earlier in this thread. you most definitely will not be allowed on track with any kind of hand held camera or camcorder in the cockpit.
Its a real safety issue and is taken very seriously
If a circuit official or any of the MGOT team see you doing so, you will not be going out on track again that day.

I know the Hague one in the link above is fine and a number of members have this type of mount.

Cheers Guys!
It's the first time out and all advice gratefully received - rather look a plonker now than on the track, or in the hospital!! I think the anticipation is dulling the grey matter a little. I'll order the headrest one on Tuesday and it should be here on time. I'd be happy to swap the kit between cars if anyone wishes.
