Hi David and welcome to MGot,
As V8Dave replies it is the full GP circuit:D and it is a not too frequent treat. Also as Dave points out racing is not the order of the day (neither I should point out is ANY form of timing), BUT driving as fast as you and the car are capable of CERTAINLY IS;) .
We have a track etiquette that we expect members to follow and this will be covered in the drivers breifing.
If this is your first ever track day, you will have a lot to take in and it may seem quite daunting, but don't worry you are only following where the rest of us have been. Also check out the FAQ's to get some ideas about preparing for the day.
Look forward to seeing you bright and early on the 12th.
Cheers,
Martin.

I think my use of the word racing has been taken too literally, I had no intention of driving in an un-gentlemanly way. i saw the track day as an enjoyable day out and a good way to meet like minded people.
I just wanted to make sure which circuit we are using as I know there are a few variants there.
Thanks for your polite reply, I look forawrd to meeting you on the 12th

Hey Russell
A slip of the tongue as they say ,but no worries, The GP circuit is really fab !
I originally thought it would feel long in the F but it certainly doesn't..
This will be my third visit I think ? or is it my 4th ? I love it . lots and lots of space so the cars in your session spread out giving you room to take your mota to it's limits with confidence...
If the weather gods are a little kinder than our last visit back in November it will be a crackin day out, I look forward to meeting you there.

Thanks Stu,
The full GP circuit does look excellent and there seems to be plenty of run off to avoid damage. I have never driven the circuit before, I have been a Marshal there, but that was a few years ago now. Will have to see how the MGB holds up, there are plenty of long straights and hopefully it will not strain the engine too much!
Many thanks
David

Sorry if my response was a bit sharp and concise. I could blame a long day at work dealing with stupid questions but it's probably not a good idea to read the bulletin board when you have just got back from the pub.:o
It was the word race that triggered my almost rant like reply, if people start racing that creates the most dangerous conditions. It only needs one preventable incident to stop the fun for a large number of us.
I look forward to meeting you on the day and if there is anything I can do to help you enjoy your on track experience......

Thanks for the response Dave, I think the previous posts explain my use of the word "racing", when "driving" would have been more appropriate. I put it down to simply bad wording rather than having anything to prove, or a desire to drive dangerously.
I look forward to meeting you and everyone else on the 12th.
Kind Regards
David

North Weald
Hi David,
Don't worry about the words, the trouble with e-mail and texting is the inflection never comes out the way you want it to. We are not really a bunch of stuffed shirts:rolleyes: and to be honest I always say at work after a track day that I was racing round x, y or z yesterday.
I see you are on the reserve list for North Weald, I wouldn't wait too long to confirm. This is a brilliant day out and SOoooooo MUCH FUN, it is totally different to a track day. You can really push the limits to find out the capabilities of the car:eek: and how big your testies are in safety, without fear of hitting anything;)
I have a mate (yes only one:p ) who described it as "The best £35 quid I've ever spent and the most fun I've had with my clothes on? :o
Cheers,
Martin.

Thanks forest boy, you have summed it up there very well, as you can see it was literally a sentence and just to check the track we were racing (joke) as there are some variants!
I was waiting to see how the car behaved at Silverstone before booking North Weald, and i really liked the look of the Snetterton day on 28th March that is aimed at older cars. I will book the North Weald day pretty soon, but right now I need to find the money for a new clutch!

I was right about my ISP's spam filter - Dave's message went straight to the waste bin. I suppose with free webmail you get what you pay for !!
