Sounds like a great idea - I wonder whether we could get enough interest together to make it happen?

We're currently looking into the 2007 calendar and part of the process has been to consider new circuits for MGoT to visit.
As I live in Shropshire I can assure you that Oulton Park is being investigated. I'd agree that the circuit is excellent to drive and the mysterious cloud that ensures Druids remains damp all day is something of a phenomenon.

Its certanly a fantastic circuit....got to drive it earlier on this year in an Evo 6. The banked hairpin which is part of the full circuit ('Shell Oils corner' I believe) is amazing. You get such a rush of adrenaline flying around there and it looks awe inspiring on the aproach from the lakeside straight!
Would be great to try it out in the TF!
Its also a great circuit for spectating as there's lots of parking near the pits and a very cosy raised viewing area built over the pits giving great views of Lodge corner and the start finish straight.
And its just down the road from me which makes it even better!

Oulton is great, and highly recommended - if booking try and get the full circuit as it is the best one (as Gary says).
For those wondering about the full circuit layout and the babnked hairpin - it can all be seen here http://www.justgofaster.com/gallery/gallery/tonys_mg/Oulton_park_july_2006.wmv although the banking is steeper than the video suggests.
Great track, probably my favourite in the UK.
except that is the Island layout!!! Doh. This is the right layout http://www.justgofaster.com/gallery/gallery/tonys_mg/oulton-june-06.wmv

MY new place is only 7.5 miles from Oulton Park in a village called Huxley. So I for one would be very interested.
The new place has got 4.5 acres so plenty of room for campers :)

Unfortunately Oulton turns out to be outrageously expensive for most of the year. One we can perhaps only consider between November and February. For now we've left it out as we have Brands in Feb and Goodwood in Nov - having been to neither circuit for a full day last year.

That's a shame - have you thought about speaking to Easytrack or someone and seeing if you can do a block booking on one of their days for say 10 or 15 MGs, with a discount for numbers.
That way you get a number of MGOT people on what must be one of the best tracks in the country - without the high MSV prices.

Oulton Parks a must for MGOT
I have done a couple of trackdays at my local track, Oulton Park's full 2.7 mile circuit (usually with Easytrack) every year for the past 5 years and I think its the best circuit in the country (I have driven most tracks), with its swoops and bends and change of cambers it really is a drivers delight (and challenge). Although I haven't yet sampled Brands GP circuit so I may be a bit premeture in my judgement. If MGoT could arrange a visit to Oulton I for one would certainly attend, and I am sure no one would be disappointed.
Merry Christmas to all the chaps, and although I enjoyed Silverstone last month it was a bit frustrating with so many cars going off on the slippery surface, but I suppose you have to expect a wet surface in late November eh.
all the best.:)
