Anyone driven the GP circuit B4. I did it last Sept and had a puncture going down the hangar straight:eek: , luckily i managed to keep it pointing the right way:D . I was amazed how wide the track is. Anyone know how the sessions will be split up? only some cars will have three times the horsepower or more, than others. Maybe the higher horsepower cars/experienced track day demons ( Mike Sparks) should be all thrown in together. One word of advice fit towing eyes and try not to go off in the gravel traps because you wont get out without a tow and your session being stopped. Someone did this to me in 2 of my three sessions so with the puncture and all, I have yet to have a proper go at it.

Mark, I have been on the GP circuit but it was a couple of years ago. It is very very wide with mega run off. In my MGB I am sure the straights will feel very long indeed. I am sure that the sessions will be split as you mentioned which is normal practice. Are you booked up for any days at Castle Combe yet? Joe

Hi Joe, Im gonna make the action Day on 22nd April my first go at Combe this year. Ive been tinkering with the car again. Its now grown a black bonnet bulge, (not pretty but i needed to cover the higher intake) and gained 37hp at the wheels.:D Are you taking both cars? Mark

Sessions will be split by experience/car as usual. However, we've only got two sessions to play with - LoT are taking the third. I'll try to get this worked out early next week and have all the info emailed out by the end of the week.

Mark, I will be very interested to have a look at your winter mods. I thought it was damn fast when I had a go in it but an extra 37BHP at the wheels must make it loony fast. I am only taking one car as the red car isn't complete after some major work this winter. Joe

Just re read my first post and dont want to scare anyone. It wasnt a blowout but a faulty valve, the rear left tyre went down slowly. I new something was wrong as the rear was a bit more wayward than usual. Joe Look forward to seeing you on 28th. I really hope its a dry day! My computer went tits up again last Oct. and ive lost your email address. Mark
I really hope its a dry day!
Errr, me too - in an attempt to silence a noisy wiper motor, some major dismantling occurred and it remains to be seen whether I can get it all back together in time - he says, having taken a break from trying to find the two fragile brush springs that pinged off into the unknown nearly an hour ago :( ________ TOYOTA STARLET SPECIFICATIONS

Light showers according to the BBC website. Ideal for my (worn) Yokohama A048R tyres then! I can recommend using some 'mist-x' anti fogging fluid on the inside of your windscreen. it kept the windows in my BGT clear from mist during an absolute downpour at Silverstone last year - and I have no heater or demister in the car!

I have just put on a new pair 048's on the rear, this is going to be entertaining. I think I'll miss the first hour in the hope that others will dry the track for me... (let's hope there is nothing more than a bit of humidity in the air)

They are not too bad in the damp and rain so long as you've heat cycled them once. I used a set to set class pole at Silverstone in attrocious conditions last year so they can't be all bad. Just don't start with too high a presure, they warm up a lot, I usually find a PSI increase of around 6-8psi from cold to the end of a 15 or 20 minute race in the dry. I tried a higher starting presure in one event and they went off about 2 or 3 laps from the end and were horrible in that final phase. PS: Yes Mark, that was me running in the engine for the season last year. See you again with your monster!
