Welcome Garreth and thanks for booking with MGoT. I'm sure that you'll have a great time on track with your Metro. See you at Anglesey!

Hi all, I live in North Wales and wouldn't mind coming to see the Track Day at Anglesey, will the circuit be open to spectators? Tim.

Welcome Tim Rather than come as a spectator why not have a go? There will be other first-timers there and you will be well looked after. Go on, you know you want to!

If anyone is thinking about visiting Anglesey but is unsure of the track you can read a description of driving the circuit, and download a flying lap from inside my MGB from a couple of years ago at this address: http://www.justgofaster.com/JGFWiki/tabid/70/topic/Anglesey/Default.aspx

Nice clip Tony..........Thanks for the info about spectating. I am keen to have a go, bit I don't know how I would fair in my standard spec Midget, so I would like to observe a track-day before commiting to anything. Tim.

Midgets fly Hi Tim, Come and have a go - you will find that your standard midget is quicker rouund Angelsey than a standard MGB and at Track day level - the skill of the driver (and experience) is far more important than the power of the car. Really Angelsey is quite a tight twisty little track and better suited to your midget than some more powerful cars. I have had an absolutley fantastic time round Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park Goodwood and Silverstone. You will find that everyone is quite considerate and waits their turn to be waved through - it can be a little frustrating sometimes when midgets just lift off for the corners to get the nose in while an MGB in front needs to scrub off more speed to make it but then disappears once you get on the straight bits but that is just part of the traits of the two cars. If you are used to throwing your Midget round the lanes of Wales I think you'll enjoy letting it loose on a track like Angelsey - take a look through the gallery - I'll pop up some pics from Silvertstone of my midget in action. Book it up - I'll look forward to seeing you on the day. Cheers Barry

Hi Tim Take a look at my standard 1965 Midget at Brands Hatch - its still a 1098cc but has K&N filters 1.5 inch Su carbs and a big bore exhaust but thats it makes more noise than power - still on wires and skinny tyres - slides all over the shop but thats the fun. Barry, Thanks for the photos, your car really does corner!!. I shall give it some thought, I have been put-off slightly by a friend(?) who does track days in a Westfield, he laughed when I suggested having a go in my Midget, he said I would just get in the way and annoy everyone!! although he does seem to spend a lot of time going backwards into corners!! Thanks for your encouragement, if you are going to Anglesey I will try and find you. Tim.

After a 12 month rebuild its looking a bit touch and go wether the Metros going to be ready or not. If pushed I'd have to say probably not :( What do you want me to do ? I can either drop out now - if you've got any reserves, or wait and see in case of a miracle. Garreth

We do have a couple of reserves that I can call on. Do want me to try to resell the place?

Dave, I am afraid that I also need to pull out. I have been royally dumpted on at work so I will not be able to go. I have already paid - so do you need a confirmation email or something? Cheers Steve

Cheers Steve
Hi Steve - what bad luck. :( I'll immediately get in touch with our second reserve and see if he can pick up the place from you. I hope there's no more drop-outs - I'm all out of reserves now! Regards, Dave

Grrrr! The best laid plans... No amount of wriggling will get me a 24hr pass for Friday, so I'm sadly going to have to drop out. If anyone wants to take my place, I'll split the cost with them, which would give them the bargain of the century  Email me if you're interested, mike at mgf1.co.uk First bid of ?50 gets it. And if you've ever wondered what a gift horse's mouth looks like, this is it! ________ Eleanor (1973 ford mustang) history
