An activity day is a perfect opportunity for those of you who have been thinking about doing your first track day, but not quite plucked up the courage to do it. It’s also great fun for old hands. So what actually is it? North Weald is an airfield, close to the junction of the M11 and M25 in Essex. We use a big patch of tarmac and layout a series of activities – typically these include a

high-speed 90 degree bend
handling course (figure of eight and a 360 degree turn joined by a straight)
slalom course
short circuit (marked by cones).
The emphasis is on having fun and exploring your, and your car’s, abilities in absolute safety. There is nothing to hit and only one car at a time on any activity. Furthermore, Andy Walsh of 1stLotus (see www.1stLotus.co.uk) will be running the day. Andy is an experienced performance-driving instructor and will give you some guidance, particularly with the high-speed bend. At this day you don't need a helmet - just you and your car. Last year's event was thoroughly entertaining in that the rain shower mid afternoon had a quite dramatic effect - I have fond memories of some pretty wild fishtailing antics on the handling course :D Whilst April is rather likely to have some rain in it somewhere, if the forecast suggests unbroken sunshine then I'm tempted to bribe the local Fire Service to sprinkle some H20 around ;) ________ Ladder Day Saints - Mormonism Forum

Unfortunately, I don't think that I'll be able to attend and/or help on this event - too close to our intended opening day! ;) Enjoy it, guys! What weather have you organised for it this time? We've had snow, sun and rain. So what's next?:D

All we need to know is the actual name of the person and some contact details nearer the time. We can sort all that out by email. Alternatively, you could register on the website in their name and just fill out the minimum user profile with your email address I guess - assuming that the website will accept two users with the same email address. If you want - give me a call on 07740 582830

TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN BOOKING A PLACE AT NORTHWEALD!!! Hi all, I booked my place for this Northweald event back at the start of February but unfortunately I have work commitments that now prevent me from attending the event. Unfortunately I've been informed that I am not allowed to cancel my booking despite it being over a month in advance of the event. Apparently though, should all the remaining places sell out, MGoT will be happy to refund my place and sell it on to someone else, or I can attempt to sell my place to someone who wishes to attend the event in a private transaction and then MGoT will ammend the driver details. This all seems a bit arse about face to me, and a kind of insurance policy in case they don't fill up the remaining places, otherwise refunding me now would be no problem. But in any event this is the position I find myself in so if you are thinking of attending this event and can definitely make it (don't want you being placed in the same situation as me) then please would you consider purchasing my place from me before making a new booking through the site. If this interests you I can be contacted by private message to discuss the details. Cheers all! PS: If I still have my place and the event has sold out, I may have to add another tenner on to the face value! :p

Hi Gary, Sorry you can't make North Weald now. Don't worry. We usually manage to resell people's places, especially with plenty of time to do so. We'll be promoting North Weald once we get Silverstone out of the way. Regards, Dave

Hi Gary, Sorry to hear you're in the 'grey area', please don't feel that MGoT is intentionally being difficult - the fact that it's a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers often puts it in a precarious position; the policy is to offer places at the lowest possible price, instead of slapping on a fat mark-up like the commercial outfits. As Dave says, there's not been an active push of this event yet but rest assured we'll be doing everything we can to fill your place so a refund shouldn't be far away. Hope to see you at next year's event, or maybe one of the track days? Your 160 horses deserve a proper outing ;) ________ Buy Portable Vaporizers

Just signed up today and then spent an hour looking for my cheque-book! :) Never done anything like this before (unless you count RWYB at Santa Pod) so will be a total newbie. What time does it start by the way? Cheers Justin

(DIESEL POWER LOL)
We're hoping to get online payment up soon (credit and debit cards) but at the moment we can only do cheques or bank transfer. Sorry! Either way you need to go through the event page and the online booking system. Once booked, an automatic email tells you where to send the cheque. If you want to do a bank transfer instead, drop me an email at dave@mgs-on-track.com and I'll give you the bank details. Hope to see you there :)
