This may all seem a bit strange, but I have a contact that has the MG contract to supply the corporate signage for MG dealerships, you know... the big MG and Rover signage set up high within an information board outside all MG dealerships. The main MG sign that he produces seems to vary from about 4 foot in diameter down to about 2 foot and in the light of the recent events at Longbridge, a very large question mark is now hanging over all the signs that he currently has produced and are sitting in storage. When I saw these, I thought WOW! .....how great would that look! A 4 foot MG sign, mounted on the back wall of my garage looking over and protecting my pride and joy whilst at rest !!!! I have spoken to my contact and he has confirmed that if Phoenix doesn't rise from the flames AGAIN, then all signs are likely to be scapped, OR could be available to enthusiasts. Is there anyone out there in the same frame of mind as me? Could you see a use for these? Let me know if there is any interest and we'll take it from there.

Well if the price was right I wouldn't mind one myself, and I should imagine they would sell like hot cakes if you advertised them on the main MG forums. Perhaps if they are to be scrapped, you could sell them and donate the proceeds?

Well, we will see how it goes. Not sure what he is looking for them and whether all he wants is to cover his base cost, but I'm sure there is room for negotiation. Will keep you posted. Waiting for them to decide whether they feel there is any point in keeping on to the stock - when that will be I'm not sure.

I might be interested in one as well. I just hope that it doesn't happen - i.e. that the need to sell these off comes about due to the demise of the MG brand.

If the worst comes to the worst then keep us informed Paul.

Yep, well do. Heard on the news last night that talks were still on-going, so maybe something will happen ? Paul

Well, I hope so - there do seem to be a couple of bidders who are falling over themselves to buy MG Rover as a going concern - if only they could get through to PwC... But anyway, if these signs were ever to become available, count me in for one! :D
