28/04/2021 19:19:05 Peter Macdonald Sadly I couldn't manage a drive to Cadwell, a track day and a drive home all in one day. As an alternative 2021 season opener I went to Donington on Monday evening 26 April. Its my local track and only 2 Junctions down the M1 to get there. As usual the Fast and the Furious were out in force. Including........1 Audi R8, one Ariel Atom one Nissan R35GTR, 2 McClarens, 2 911 GT3s, a 911 turbo and a whole gaggle of high power BMW M3s!! It is open pitlane and it can get very busy out there. I usually arrive with a little trepidation but once I strapped in and on the sighting laps it all starts to feel good. The weather was perfect. Bone dry track, a little sunshine and plenty of cool air to suck in to the engine. Only 2 red lights . One for a BMW with terminal engine failure and one for a Lotus (elise??) that went off in a big way. [/I] This reminds me of a day at Donington some years ago, it is one of the reasons why we decided to form MGs on Track, Trackdays for MG Enthusiasts, run by MG Enthusiasts.
