Excellent videos. Don't forget that he's driving a front wheel drive.

Always enjoy Castle Combe - it was my "maiden" track.
New Yellow Stuff pads all fitted, tested and bedded-in, so it will be interesting to see the difference to the old road-going Mintex pads on the track. Fortunately the old ones held out through the Mallory sessions and had 3 - 4mm thickness left, so no damage to the discs. Pretty even wear between front and rear. The Mintex pads and discs were new all round in August last year, and have done 8 track days. Is this about normal?
The photographs from Mallory Park were good - it is a good and challenging track and the weather was "interesting".

8 tracks days  Are you sure they are working properly?
Or maybe you are not trying hard enough :D
See you on Monday all being well

Thats a good question - possibly not braking hard enough, but with the road pads, they would fade if I got too enthusiastic. So its why I have gone to the EBC yellow pads, as suggested by others in the paddock! I am looking forward to trying them out! Hopefully see you Monday - what happened to you both - car trouble?

We have Yellows on the fronts at the mo. The new Monster 4's when they arrive and we have them fitted will have Mintex 1155 initially to see how they perform. John R uses them.
What happened, ah now that would be telling but rest assured it was my fault not Duncan's. A stupid mistake , I'll enlighten you on Monday ;)

You will notice a BIG improvement in fade resistance Im positive. Just make sure you use Motul 600 or similar high boiling point "race" fluid. You need more than 500ml tho to do a complete change.

Hi Peter, checked the bottle in the garage last night - Motul 600! Should be OK then, but if I get the time over the weekend I will renew

Remember the old adage..."If it ain't broken fix it until it is!".
Bleeding the entire brake system on the eve of a track day would count as one can of worms too many in my book, but you're probably crafted from sterner stuff!
See you Sunday evening,
Duncan.
