Hi all, I'm new to all this, I've completed a few track days at Woodbridge Airfield in my dad's Alfetta GTV, but now have my own MG ZR 120 which I have prepared/am preparing for targas, road rallies etc. I watch all the Goodwood events so would love to join you all and have a go! My question is, its 3 hours from us, so an overnight stay is preferred. Can any of you recommend a hotel that would accommodate secure parking for a car and trailer? I will borrow my dad's trailer but he wants confirmation of secure parking... Thanks all! James

Dear James, We're delighted that you plan to join our happy throng, and look forward to seeing you at Goodwood if not before. As hinted at by Peter don't expect a lightning quick reply to your query but it'll come in time! I don't use a trailer so I wouldn't want to mislead you with false information. All the best, Duncan.

James
Hi James, The favoured haunt for many of us is the Chichester Park hotel https://www.chichesterparkhotel.com/. Its about 5 minutes from the circuit and those of us staying the night before an event meet in the bar, have a drink (or two) and then eat together in their restaurant. Its not the cheapest place but very convenient. The nearest Premier Inns and Travelodges are quite a bit further away, hence why we have settled on the Chichester Park. Please do come and join us - as a first timer we appreciate that you probably won't know anyone else, but we would love to meet you and introduce you to a few of us old lags! We were all first timers once and MGs on Track is known for both great track days but also as a very social club too.

Hi James, Your best bet when looking for trailer parking is to use Google Earth and check out the hotel car park layout. For a tow car plus trailer I reckon you need the equivalent of 3 car spaces in line, although I have quite a big trailer and tow with a Galaxy so you might squeeze into 2. Parking alongside the access road is sometimes possible and if your Dad is concerned about security a wheel clamp or tow hook clamp is a good idea.

Hi James Normally before the bookings open up I begin a thread 'The Night before....' providing information on places to stay and eat at to help particpants and also to encourage groups of drivers to get together the evening before the track day and have a bit of a social. My son and I also travel down the day before as we both live in North Lincolnshire, sometimes referred to as the 'frozen North' :D mentioning no names  and we have stayed at the Travelodge, Arundel Fontwell Park, usually plenty of space and a pub next door 'The old Stables' with good food and a range of ales. We went in 2017 and 18 but missed last year but I fancy with the reduction in tracks this year :( we'll be making the journey down this year  Whilst I try to find places where breakfast is available and which is earlier enough Travelodge doesn't meet this criteria but at Goodwood as a part of the package it includes lunch and all beverages [non alcholic] and if memory serves me right a bacon butty on arrival You should enjoy the circuit Look forward to meeting you Mark

Hi James Goodwood will in every likelihood be oversubscribed and sell out quickly so as soon as you hear the booking platform is available you need to book. It will be a great day and with luck the aerodrome will be fettling or readying the Spitfires so throw in some top notch nosh and you will have a great time. Only seven turns of the wheel so you wont scrub the tyres but it will be quick! Hope to see you there if I get the place on the day. Best, Nigel

Hi Andrew, as a registered member you should be receiving monthly newsletters, sometimes in these depending on timing or in a seperate email the members are advised that a particular track is opening for booking and when, usually a couple of days before it does
How do we know when booking is open? Am keen to secure a place.
We are looking at opening Goodwood towards the end of this month. As noted, this will be announced in our regular newsletters and I have checked and you are registered and receiving them as far as I can see. All our events are publicised by newsletter before we open booking for them to give everyone a chance to book into popular circuits.
