Hi My MGB Roadster 3.5 V8 is about ready for a new set. Currently on Pirelli 195/65 R15 V91 which were fitted when I bought it. The car has Hoyles IRS system front and rear, discs all round. I do several track days each year and I have been talking to other drivers about their tyre choice. Seems to be mainly Proxies or Avon ZT5's. I've also looked at the ZV7's. Some have suggested changing from 65 to 60 profile, if I do that I can recalibrate the speedo. I'm looking for something that will be good both for road including wet and track use. Given I do 2-3k miles a year in it longevity isn't a key consideration. Any suggestions re tyre and profile? Regards Mark

Mark, I run Falken ZEX914 195/65 on my V8..... these are good all- rounders with acceptable track day performance including the wet, and good road manners. They also last well. I have run Falkens on kit cars in the past and my road car presently. Prices are ok and they are worth a try. Pete

......forgot to say that my suspension is cart spring ( lowered a bit) with telescopics on the rear, so not as sophisticated as yours......

Thanks Thanks Pete I'll keep a note of your suggestion for next time as I've had to get them sorted the other week and decided on the ZV7's 60 profile. My son and wife did Blyton the other day and they performed well. Castle Combe coming up and planning to do Goodwood this yr so that will no. 5 for this yr. If I keep this up I'll be looking for new tyres sooner than expected ;) Many thanks Mark
