I want to thank all those involved today for providing a great day out. Well organised and the Marshalls all looked after us, even after the fuel spillage disaster. Not one session was interrupted on our group so that has to be a first for me! :) It's great to hear the good comments about my Mini from others on track. It's coming better and better over the years. Shame it was drinking water though, so we limited our sessions to 5 laps. :( The lunch time rain tried to upset things but cleared up and was clear again for the afternoon sessions. Arrived home with very little drama so overall a great day out. Here's a few video's from the day. And thanks from me too. First time at at Cadwell and thoroughly enjoyed the track. All really well organised by MSV. Thanks to the committee for arranging the event, Duncan for the use of his tent and all for the company. All went well until the last lap of the last session. Oil warning light came on. Parked the car at the side of the track, it wouldnt restart and was towed off. Restarted in the paddocks but the oil light kept flashing and decided to call the AA. Arrived home at 11.30 on the back of an AA pickup! Hopefully it is just the oil pump and I have not caused any damage to the engine.

Hi, Really sorry, on behalf of the committee members present, that you suffered oil warning light problems and subsequent recovery home. We hope it didn't dent your enthusiasm for Cadwell too much and was an unfortunate end to your first day there. Hopefully you didn't suffer any engine damage and we will see you soon again on track. All the best, Martin

I very much doubt the oil pump is faulty. Heard of many faults with the K series but oil pumps are generally reliable. Maybe fitting a replacement pump will get you going but I wouldn't spend a lot on trying to repair as untold damage will of occurred to the rest of the internals during the low oil pressure. Personally I'd look for a replacement engine. Hope to see you on track again. Please don't be put off. I had first 2 times at Cadwell returned on a recovery truck. Still come back for more... :D

Might be back on track at Castle Combe in September with a bit of luck! Despite this I thoroughly enjoyed the day at Cadwell and it will top of my list next year!
