Hey everyone. Brand new and have questions. I got some info about mg track daysfrom the classic show at the NEC and have finally started chasing the dream of racing my midget! So, my questions are...do you need a roll cage/bar? Are there any practice days? When are the available weekend track days? I'm sure I'll have more questions but these are the main ones for now. Looking forward to reading the replies. Hx

Hi H, Welcome to MG's on Track! A few quick answers but do ask more! You do not need a roll cage or roll over bar. Practice days is a bit of a difficult question to address because it's not necessary to practice for a track day but in your post you say your dream is to race your Midget. We are not an arena for racing folk to 'test' in preparation for a race but an opportunity for you to drive as quickly and safely as you wish in a non competitive environment. Whilst this will not make you 'race sharp' it gives you an opportunity to learn the limits of the car and of course your own. We provide instruction from ARDS 'A' instructors and even coaching which at a modest cost is very popular and great value for money. Your last question was when do we operate our track days and I can do no better than point you to our forthcoming events on the side bar of our home page on this website. One last thought if it is your first time on track another way we offer initial experience is to come along to one of our North Weald days which is a track day 'lite' where you are able to test your car's limits on a wide open runway and in complete safety. Just a thought..... ( it's great fun too! ) In the current issue of Safety Fast do find our MG's on Track feature which this month has the article entitled 'What is a Trackday" Best wishes, Martin

Hi Martin, thank you for your reply, very useful information! I looked at the events section and there are mostly weekday events which is no good for me. The only weekend one I saw was croft but that was for experienced people only. The runway thing sounds fab! I'll have to see if I can get some time off my 50+ hour a week job! Hx
