Hope the casualties (an MGF HGF in the first session and a B that hit the barrier in the afternoon) manage to get their vehicles repaired without too much cost.

Thanks for the thought Ralph. In my case (TF160) the car was with the dealer in Uxbridge by 1:30 and they tell me it will be ready by Wednesday. As it's still under warranty it shouldn't cost anything.
I wasn't there to see the other incident, hope he's OK and that the car is well again soon.
Glad everyone else seems to have had a good day. Great track isn't it.

ABsolutely brilliant day! Never been to Brands before, so didn't know what I was missing! Wow, the gradients of Paddock bend are something to savour! :D
Norman, hope that your car will be soon repaired: did you get the car to the garage okay?
The MGB V8 Roadster that spun out and hit the barrier was really sad to see: the driver appeared well, and the MG community were typically very supportive of him. I hope that the car is repaired soon - and that he gets back on track ASAP! :)

I'm glad you all enjoyed it as much as me :) I went out with Peter, the LoT instructor in the afternoon and he helped me sort out my lines through a couple of bends, so I was really pleased!
We seem to have a dearth of photos, with poor Norman suffering his HGF in session one. Has anybody got any to post in the gallery?

Hi Dave,
I've posted a few "pitside" photos, the Live actions shots:eek: are on Video, I'll try to pull a few screens shots later.

Thanks a lot
Can I add my thanks to the organisers for a great day ! The number of cars on track in my session was just right - plenty of laps without being overtaken or bunching up. :)
I hope the MGB roadster that crashed is OK. I was behind him at the time and he just seemed to turn left onto the grass and hit the barrier.
By any chance did anyone get a pic of my car - MGB roadster in "Blaze", lowered with painted white rostyles ?
Thanks
Mark

I believe that this is the car that hit the barrier on Cooper Straight :(
http://www.mgs-on-track.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=852&size=big&password=&sort=1&cat=3017
It had major damage to the off-side front. There was also some damage to the rear.
I came out of Graham Hill Bend to find a B fish-tailing in front of me. It then sudden went towards the barrier on the left, spun and then headed across the track onto the grass on the right. The driver managed to collect it together and then limp back to the pits.
Norman, hope that your car will be soon repaired: did you get the car to the garage okay?
Picked the car up this evening. The water pump had failed causing the HGF. As there was still some water in the header tank when I pulled into the pits it looks as though I caught it in time. No oil/water mix, and the head didn't need skimming.
They assure me that the mechanic knows his business and spent an age properly bleeding the cooling system after the repair. I will be keeping an eagle eye on the system for a few days though.
All done under warranty at absolutely no cost. They also fixed my passenger window motor that gave up the ghost a couple of days earlier.

Good to have an explanation Norman - sort of makes you feel better than you would otherwise, not knowing why on earth it happened.
I'm pleased you got it sorted so quickly. :)

Great result Norman - and a good service you've got from SMC. Now I understand why you go back there :)
Surprised that the water pump failed so early in its life - but that is what the warranty is there for :)

I can't remember how we did it before (we have Norman's North Weald day clip somewhere on the site), but drop Steve Childs a note as he's our webmaster - stevec@mgs-on-track.com and he'll remind us both what to do (I tend to update the site, but through Steve's content management system).
