Fellow MGoT Members, Some or all of you may know / remember Steve Adams, he was a regular at our Goodwood and other events and drove a green MGB. I received the following e-mail from Alison, his wife today: I am very sadly writing this email on Steve’s behalf to inform you that he passed away on Friday 21 August. He had been very bravely battling with pancreatic cancer for 16 months. I wanted to let you know as Steve’s track days were very special to him and he looked forward to catching up with all the friends he made there, as well as thoroughly enjoying the day’s racing event. Unfortunately I do not know the names of all the friends he chatted with on these occasions and wondered if it was at all possible for you to inform them if you have any of their contact numbers/emails etc. His funeral is to be held on Wednesday 16 September at 12.30 at Colchester Cemetery and Crematorium, Mersea Road, Colchester, Essex, CO2 8RU (at the Crematorium), and afterwards Remembrance Tea will be held at The Coach House, Marks Hall Estate, Coggeshall, Essex CO6 1TG, at which any friends would be very welcome. The family kindly requests no flowers please, but should you wish, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund via the following link www.memorygiving.com/stevenwilliamadams or placed in the donation box on the day. RSVP for catering please. We are intending to send a donation on behalf of all of his friends at MGoT, but of course you are free to donate individually.

Cant say I knew him as I am fairly new here but shame when someone with the same passion for cars and using them the way they should be used passes :o

I met Steve at a number of our events at Goodwood and Brands Hatch. He enjoyed the track days in both his MGB and MG TF. We compared notes about our MGBs and spoke about family and his work. I always looked out for his name when booking an event and shall miss him. David Beatty

Ditto to Davids comments about Steve. As fellow East Anglians we shared a common bond and my son and I always looked out for him at events, we were wondering why we hadn't seen him for a while. Nice chap, will miss him at Goodwood.

Sorry to read this - I remember Steve well, I was running the Brands Hatch evening when he came to his event with us and got to know him well over the subsequent years. As others have said a lovely, friendly chap and always a pleasure to meet him on track days. R.I.P. old friend.

I've only just come across this item and am sad to hear of Steve's death. I first met him several years ago at Goodwood on an occasion when his B failed the noise test - he hitched rides for the day including in my OEW RV8 roadster and really enjoyed himself. I later met up at other track days and at MGLive usually with his young son. A great loss.
