Hi there, My friend has a MGA and wants to come to Pembrey. He is concerned that the car does not have seat-belts and was wondering if its ok to use on track? Is there much in the way of scrutineering? its in excellent condition. many thanks Tim

Hi Tim, In my capacity as the Event Manager for Pembrey, I have contacted the circuit and they have an absolute rule that all cars must have either seat belts or a harness fitted and be used during their track sessions, So unfortunately this rule out your friend with his MGA on this occasion. Other circuits have different rules and, to my knowledge, we have never refused entry to a track day on this basis before. On the subject of scrutineering, as a participant in an MGoT track day, you sign an indemnity form which says that you have self-scrutineered your car and that it is safe to use on track. In our track day guides we have a list of things to check, but they are the obvious one, eg oil, water, tyre pressures, wheel nuts etc. There will be plenty of experienced folk around on the day and we will assign you a mentor for the day (if it is your first day with us) to guide you through the process.

Thanks for the reply. I have let him know. It is my first time with MG's on Track, so a mentor would be nice. I have driven at Spa in my GT a few years back, and have some experience from that! What a circuit!
