There are plenty of people who'll be only too happy to be a 'track buddy' for the day. I'd also encourage you to book a slot with an instructor if you can. Well worth it. I went out with an instructor at Brands on Friday, even though I'd driven the circuit several times before and it was really useful - helped me nail a couple of bends I was driving inconsistently :D

Nervous Laughter

Hi Dave, I am very sorry to have to bother you AGAIN, :o but reality has set in and I have to accept that the Frogeye is not going to be ready in time, :( as things like work and family seem to be getting in the way of garage time !! ;) I have therefore decided to be realistic and sensible (!!) and will be using my BGT for both Silverstone and Bedford (plus the other of this year's track days that I can get to.) She is not pretty to look at (her nickname is SCRUFF !) but she is solid and makes me smile so what more do I need !?! :D On another topic - how are the plans for a beginners evening at Donnington going please ? Has there been enough interest ? It sounds like a fantastic idea and I would be very keen please. Very many thanks Steve

Hi Hotkiwi, Dave does not lie, it is a very friendly bunch of people who go along so you are sure to find someone to sit with you. Everyone was new to this at some stage. I would offer to sit with you but I have not driven Silverstone before so I will be on a learning curve as well. Just take it easy and build your speed and confidence during the day. Hi Hotkiwi Don't worry. The morning sessions start off slowly with sighting laps so that everyone find their feet. Everyone tends to get faster as the day progresses but some go home earlier anyway so there's more track to yourself by that time. The important thing is to drive at a pace you're comfortable with and not to be dragged along following a faster driver (possibly in a slower car). After a few laps you'll wonder what you were so concerned about. See you Monday. Neil

Due to my current (un)employment situation I am having to budget very carefully for track days at the moment. I'm afraid I can't really make out the registrations from the digital images. They were taken on high res, but I cropped right into them in Photoshop. Fingers crossed that the photos I get back on CD will have more detail. I can't remember if I took any of your Elise, Gerald, but it should be easy to pick out from the MGs! I must say thanks to everyone at the MGCC and MGoT for organising another brilliant day. Even though I wasn't driving it was good to see all the cars on track and to meet up with a great bunch of people again.

Personally, I haven't tired of either Brands or Donington, but yes I'd love to try some new ones too :) Glad you enjoyed Silverstone - the three sessions based on experience is how we always do it, if we have the whole day ourselves. We'll be doing this again at Cadwell.
