Update I've spoken to Dave Walker this afternoon, and have confirmed the date. I've also confirmed a few other details too:

I've arranged for each session to include a Lambda check of fuel mixture - I know that a number of us are interested in this parameter!
As a result, the day is now limited to 20 cars, at 30 quid a run. But that does include all the tea and biscuits (etc) that you can eat (okay, I made that last bit up)
Spectators are welcome - but remember that parking is restricted. Therefore Dave has requested that spectators park just around the corner (that's no problem)
I think that is about it - but if you have any special requirements, then let either me know, or contact Dave directly. :) So the attendence list now stands at:

Paul (aka Alicatt) MGZT 260SE
Kev (aka ZSV6) MGZS 180
Eddie (aka 180Boy) MGZS 180
Dave Breen MGZS 180
Paul (aka Wirly) MGZS 180
Pete B MGZS 180
Ralph MGZS 180
Pete Carr Rover Metro 1.4 GTi
Caroline Woodley Caterham7 Roadsport 1.8
Rob Bell MGF 1.8i
Dave Livingstone MGF VVC
Tim Woolcott MGF 1.8i
Steve Ratledge MGF 1.8i
Andrew (SF) Phillips MGF 1.8i
Norman MGTF 160
Steve White MGTF 160
Are we all confirmed and ready to go?

If no one has any better suggestions, then I suggest we go with this :D
I can see the map Rob, but what is the 'here' - is it the pin at Caxton Gibbett at the junction of the A428 and A1198 - and if so what is it - a Little Chef; Macdonalds ...???

Hmm - there is no arrow is there? Andrew was suggesting that we meet at the Cambridge Services off J28 on the A14. It's big and it's obvious - so fulfills some of the criteria!

How long from there to emerald? Emerald @ 9:00 breakfast @8:00 leave home @ 6:15

Hmm, looks like about an hour and a half for me to get there as well. An early start is in order :( But if there's a bacon sarnie with my name on it.. :) Just need to find some money for some mods now. Engine is sounding a lot better since the work by B&G, but my wallet is empty... Ralph

Rob Bell
Ralph, I am sure that there will be plenty of ideas to tempt you on the modifications front: we've got a good number of ZS180s turning up, some with close to 200bhp... :D

Rod, is the meet @ J28 (Cambridge services) on the A14 still on? If so I will see you there as its not far of my intended route anyway :D

Yes, let's go with this as our plan :)

Rob, I know its a bit last minuet but due to recent events (i.e. ordering a new TF :D ) I think I am going to give this a miss now. Not much point in doing a RR run on my current car is when I'm getting rid of it in a few weeks. Will still be going to Stoneleigh though. PS. Most of the mods will be making there way onto the new one, so it will probably be making an appearance at a RR day near you soon ;)

Okay Steve, no problem. I won't send the lads around to break your legs THIS TIME ;) ;) ;) Look forward to seeing the new car when you get it! :D

Update I spoke to Dave Walker a little earlier today - he'd like to get started a little later - 10am rather than 9am. I propose we still meet as planed at 0730 - but then take advantage of popping into the MGOC HQ when it opens at 0900 and then head up to Emerald thereafter. How does that suit you folks?
16/02/2005 17:10:53
norman
OK by me Rob.

The MGOC HQ visit looks to be off - just noticed the opening times from 10-1 on Saturday... Have emailed Roger Parker at the MGOC to see how 'flexible' they're prepared to be ;)

Rob's away picking up his car from Techspeed, but I've spoken with him and we're still going to meet up at 8am for brekkie at the services at J28 on the A14. We'll have loads of time as we don't need to get to Emerald until 10am, but we thought it best to keep with the plan that had been posted on various boards. Dave

Overall, another success RR day :D On a personal note, why is my car always the least powerful one in attendence? I'll get my own back, you'll see! Made me think though: when was the last time I cleaned my airfilter? Could be a job for the weekend me thinks! Caroline, you're Caterham looks superb - but you must have been frozen driving back: for those not there, there was something of a snow blizzard when we arrived at Emerald! Good to see that Kingsley now knows why his car is overfuelling: it's got a dodgy Lambda sensor. Dave Walker was able to provide a temporary fix by fuelling the car on open loop mapping on his Emerald ECU - so hopefully, he'll not single-handedly fuel global warming! Most powerful car of the day was Paul's ZS180 with a comfortable 200bhp - impressive stuff from an air induction kit, a Superchips ECU program and a new 'zorst: excellent stuff! :D Will arrange another RR day later in the year: have a few upgrades planned so I can terrorise you all on track... let me know if you're interested, and when in the year you'd like to go there. PS: will post the data files here once I've had a chance to go through them :)
