A huge thanks to all those running yesterday. The organisation couldn't have been better and the sessions were seamless, it was a brillaint day. Barry's tuition, as always, was informative and fun, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. David.

A fantastic day and I must mention the organisation was second to none. I had a friend with me who hadn't been to a track day before and was surprised at how friendly everyone was, the gentlemanly nature of the day and how well organised and laid back it all was, he has been bitten by the bug needless to say :P Thanks to those who ran the day and I'll be back next year!!!!

Would also like to add my thanks to the organisers and facilitators of such a smoothly run track day. My son Chris and I had a fantastic time and a dry track was the icing on the cake. :D Looking forward to next years events! Cheers, Richard

You are all most welcome. Indeed a cracking day; dry and very mild for December. Thanks all for your good and courteous driving, I don't think we had a single issue to sort out on the day. One off and one big mechanical problem but that's life.

The Brands Hatch curse has struck again! The car noise that brought me to abort the last two sessions has proved to be a rear wheel bearing that has broken up. Not sure how I got it home. That's me out of MGs now!

Good grief Paul !! It never rains it pours.... Hope you are not in low lying country too.... Sorry to use a most unfortunate expression right now with the East Coast in real trouble but I am sure your personal tide will turn soon. Best wishes, Martin

Thank you all! A really big thank you to everyone who helped organise and make my first track day so memorable; everyone was so welcoming, I felt at home right from when I arrived. Barry Evans is clearly a legend, so glad I managed to book the instruction session, it made streets of difference. I did have the unfortunate incident on the 5th session of blowing my engine up and getting towed off the track (sorry all for disrupting the session!). I had spoken too soon saying how well it was going, temperature, water, oil all staying even! I must say a special big thank you to Ian Chaplin who towed me a little way up the A20 so I could call the breakdown service; the recovery driver was a little suspicious but took me home anyway! Can anyone recommend a good garage to fix my engine? I'm guessing it's going to be a replacement engine as it seems locked solid. I live in Chingford, North East London/Essex, but don't mind travelling if I know I'm going to get a good job done. Can't wait to get the engine sorted and get to another track day!!:D

Ouch  sorry to hear that, that's very rare on our track days, it's normally HGF's, wheel bearings and such like. You could speak to Russell, he is a mobile (covers the country) and lives not that far from Brands if I remember rightly, I have used him occasionally he is a great guy, and is very good and reasonable This is website.. His contact details there... http://www.mgroversolutions.com/ Good luck Stu:D

Was very sorry to see your car sat in the paddock. Do you know why it happened now. Indeed, Russell is highly recommended both for workmanship and price. There seems to be plenty of engines about at the moment from £250 up if you need one. Have an initial look on eBay but don't necessarily stop there. Russell might know of some. Whatever you get it will be well worth replacing the cambelts etc before fitting it.

Thanks Tim and Stu for the feedback, I'll give Russell a go. Not 100% sure what the problem was/is yet, haven't had anytime to really investigate.
