Nice video Matt and always a pleasure to pass on some tips, though I feel you would benefit greatly from an instructor session..or two ;)
One thing I will mention that you can practise on the road - keeping within the law of course ! - is 'heel n toe'. (There are some vids on you tube that will help you with this) It will give you a smoother drive through corners and keep the car more stable.
See you at the next event !

I had considered heel and toeing, but in the Metro it'd be near-impossible due to the positioning of the pedals; the brake is a lot higher than the accelerator, unlike Turkington's BMW where the pedals are probably specifically positioned for that kind of thing. If I get a car with more suitable pedals, however, I'll be interested for sure.

Hi Matt,
It is possible in a Metro - I've had two MG's - but it takes a lot of practice and the best advice I ever got was via an instructor on a session.
I can't emphasise enough what excellent value instruction is, especially when wanting to learn a particular technique, then the coaching is even better. After the first session with the instructor on coaching, tell him you particularly want to learn to heel & toe and the next two sessions he will get you into the basics - from then it is practice - practice - practice :D
