Hi, I've booked this as my first official track day in the mg after a bit of fun at north Weald. What are the likely outcomes if the weather is against us? I.e. Heavy rain or cold, will they event still run or are they fairly quick to cancel events at msv? Also, any tips for the day? What to bring along etc Is the daytime limit of 105db sufficient for most cars? I have a single silencer stainless system (mgb hive) but no real means of testing it before hand. Thanks in advance Paul

Hi Paul. Welcome to MGoT We've been running Brands in December for 5 years to my knowledge, possibly longer. We lost last year due to several inches of snow on the track and re-scheduled it January without financial loss. Apart from that, MSV have never cancelled a day. Yes, it will be cold so wrap up well and yes it might rain but it would be exceptional to be so hard all day that we decide to pack up and go home. We occasionally see some failing noise test at other circuits with lower limits such as 98dB but Brands at 105dB is quite forgiving - it really is quite loud. Look forward to seeing you there Tim.

I am at Brands on 9th December : and i was there last year when the snow fell on 17th December ;-( Msv and the company running the day were great they kept the circuit open till about 3 in the afternoon for everyone but then for safety the track was closed, which is fair enough. Another day was sorted at no extra cost as well which was great, most circuits will try to do what they can however if it is halted due to safety thats that however i have only had this happen in 14 years of doing track day's. Brands is a great track just wrap up warm lol.
