Thanks Steve - but we didn't do much really other than enjoy the day and everyone's company both at dinner the evening before and during the day at the circuit :) Cracking day but something like a £900 loss for MGoT because of the 7 unsold spaces. Can't unfortunately see there being much enthusiasm in committee for repeating Cadwell in the foreseeable :( Bookings seem generally slower this year. Are we doing something wrong or is it the general climate? .

My first time at Cadwell Park, what a great circuit... fast bits, slow bits, technical bits, up and down bits...in fact lots of bits ! :D   :o Well done to all those that supported this event, it was good to see the regulars and some first timers ;) ... If you enjoyed Cadwell Park half as much as me then I enjoyed it twice as much as You

Thanks to the MGoT team especially Fran and Tim who made myself and Sam very welcome, this also extends to the rest of the MGoT crowd who are very friendly and talkative. Apologies as I cant remember all your names but I'm hopefully attending another session soon once the ZS has its niggles sorted out Just thinking about it how lucky were we with the weather? One small shower at lunch and that was it, if we planned everything on the weather we probably wouldnt get out much but it certainly paid off on Saturday.:D Such a shame you made a loss on the day, I noticed the MSV session only had about 10-12 cars attending. As far as I can tell you are doing everything very well as I had a brilliant day so keep it up. Rob

Hi Rob How did you find the sessioned format of the day

Cadwell Park. Yes thanks to Tim + Fran and everyone who turned up at Cadwell for making it a brilliant day .The driving standards were very good as we didn't have one red flag all day. I can honestly say that in 6 years of MGs on track that Cadwell on Saturday was one of my top 3 track days. Those that didn't go missed a fantastic day. It will be a shame if we eventually lose Cadwell Park because in my opinion it is a brilliant circuit. I will be starting to download my photo's but could take a few days so please be patient. Cheers Trevor.:) :)

We were so lucky with the weather and no red flags. I also thought the classroom session that MSV did during the day was a really good idea. I know Tim went out next session to try one or two of the suggestions. I just wish we could get to the bottom of why it was not supported well. The Committee would be interested to here any comments why we couldn't sell all the spaces.

I would think that some members might ( rightly or wrongly ) consider Cadwell a bit of a trek, especially if getting there on a friday evening. I have done Cadwell and would love to do it again, but on this occasion it came too soon after Castle Combe - I'd been down there all weekend ( for the Sports Car Action Day etc as well as MGoT )- and activities other than MGs have to be fitted in. So please don't rule it out based on just one disappointing event. The classroom session part way through the day seems an excellent idea.

Hi All Jim's point is very interesting and I think spot on - whilst Cadwell is not exactly on anyone's doorstep ( apologies to any Lincs. Tracksters ) it is still reasonably central for most and not the trek people think. We were offered the session by MSV ( owners of Brands, Oulton, Cadwell and Snet. ) quite late and when Castle Combe was set in stone and I think already for sale. It was very disappointing to not have a full house and the committee would welcome any other comments, as Jim has kindly done, to better help us understand the lack of numbers. Perhaps like Jim it was the Castle Combe effect but if there are other factors such as the perceived distance to travel please comment everyone. I would endorse Trevor and others comments though - it was a fantastic day on one of the most picturesque circuits but apart from the lovely vista Cadwell is a superb circuit to drive and I believe is known as the mini Nurburgring! The really friendly nature of our club was very much to the fore and a fun night was had on Friday evening. Real shame Stu suffered another engine gremlin again and hope it's not too serious. If there was one blot on the landscape we suffered a rather agressive bike racer who tried to park his tanK on our lawn for the following day and well done to all who 'persuaded' him to p--- o--! Please keep the Cadwell comments rolling in as rest assured we very much want to return next year but can't if we are going to make another loss again.... Martin Holmes

Hi everyone, I can only echo the previous comments made on this and thank you all for your thoughts and Jim for your comments as somebody who would have gone. However I would be particularly pleased to hear comments from Northern based club members as to why Cadwell and Croft do not get supported in the same way as Southrn events are? (It should be noted that even though to a lesser extent Oulton Park has also been a slow seller in the past) It is a real mystery to your committee and we really would welcome your views. I don't think anybody who has expereinced Cadwell, Croft or Oulton Park would want to see them dropped from future calendars.

Hi everyone. Just to add my thoughts on Cadwell. Although it is quite a long way I was hoping to attend but 2 things went against it. 1. Her indoors arranged for us to be going on holiday Sunday 19th so that really stopped any chance.:( 2. It was very soon after Combe and two in one month does stretch the finances a bit. However I would like to experience it if possible so please try and keep it on the programme. Perhaps it might seem a bit perverse but weekday events are actually easier for me to attend then weekend ones, but that's the advantage I have of not having to book "holiday days" to attend.;) Regards Philip.

On the second one I get the impression from a few conversations I've had, with members at Combe and MG Live on Sunday, that there is another reason why wekkend dates do not suit. If drivers have partners or families that do not share their enthusiasm for track days, they prefer to leave the weekends free for them. One things for sure I think it is a difficult balancing act that your committee may never get right. :o :D

My Two Pen'orth Cadwell Park is on my bucket list and I fully intend to drive it some time. I didn't make the MGoT session because, like others, it was a little too soon after Castle Combe, but the main reason was that I need to ring fence days a little way ahead. Cadwell means three days away and I already had work booked for the Friday, otherwise I would have made it; it was just too short notice. 'Er indoors might even have taken a session as well as it was a weekend. Please do not discount Cadwell for the future.;) Rgds, Paul
