Trophy-Steve
Last session of the day. I was shown a different line through the Beckets complex, courtesy of a friend of mine that races in the 'Lotus Elise trophy' - he was shown that earlier in the day by his instructor !...Thanks Paul, it worked for me !! I managed to get a few cars on film... Enjoy :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lbFEo-6WDs

Aren't V8 MGBs fun  ! At least your first lap wasn't spoilt. I've got a video if I can figure out how to get it off the camera, and actually managed one lap without interference, which was nice. (Also discovered the sound is better with the windows shut). It's interesting to compare lines with the Lewis Hamilton quali lap on the F1 website - you and I are almost identical, and Lewis only differs round Luffield, but I'm not sure he got it right that time! And he would have done precisely two laps to our one!

Great video Steve, neat tidy and consistent laps, but intersting the line the two race boys took through Beckets and Chapel onto the Hanger straight. Shows the difference between a full race set up, very stiff suspension and sticky road legal tyres, over a standard/modified road car. The following are meant as observations and they are no criticism of anybody. You caught the V8 on the out lap at Stowe, from there on the grunt won on the straights but you gained much in the corners for a lap and half. When you both came up on the TF, ZR, B GT group coming out of Aintree the TF indicated the ZR through and the B GT followed. I couldn't see consent from the B GT or the ZR as the V8 took all three. I might have missed a hand signal, not easy to see and nothing was dangerous. Once you had passed the B GT and ZR you caught up to the V8 at Stowe again and he then started to loose the back end into Luffield. (I think you were very cool in lifting off, I think I would have kept my foot in once he was that far off line, so technically I would have broken a rule) After correcting he used the grunt through Woodcote and down the pit straight. I would have liked him to concede to you at that point rather than use the grunt on the straight to keep you at bay. IMO it is a classic example of how drivers use power to maintain track position, when really it is time to let the car behind go. He was clearly using the mirrors as he gave way immediately to the race cars and you followed through. But I wonder if that would have happened without the two race cars arriving? I think you missed the chequer at Abbey and then took the yellow ZR, no indication or hand signal I could see and I guess you realised the chequer had gone out when you caught the blue ZS and Porsche. The bottom line is it shows great driving by all, as I said nothing was dangerous, but also illustrates it ain't as easy as it looks. But I enjoyed that and I really want to have a go at this circuit next year. We might have lost Bridge but that new section is so technical, flowing from Abbey to the huge stop at Village and then the blast down the old National straight, I think it is fair substitute for loss of Bridge.
