Looking outside at the weather i'm getting worried about being able to even get to Brands on Monday for my first MGoT day, let alone the conditions out there on track. Any ideas on what happens if the weather is still all snowey and horrible like it is right now? Chris

Brands and snow :( Hi Chris. After the whiteout at Mallory on Saturday,I'm not suprised you are getting worried, but take a look at the BBC weather website, and it might make you feel a bit better. For the Brands area (Maidstone),there is no snow forcast after tonight, and rain for the weekend, and as Brands are very good at keeping the circuit clear,it is looking hopefull. We'll keep our fingers crossed(and anything else you can think of!),as I really want to give my new Trophy a run before the end of the season. See you there then, Cheers.Dave Abram.:)

Hi Guys, Yes we are concerned as well, but we have a committee member locally who is keeping me updated, deepish snow at the moment. Only the circuit can call the day off now we have a contract, so I will be looking at the Met Office forecast for Maidstone on Friday morning, talking to Martin Holmes and then talking to Brands if it is looking iffy. But I'm ever hopeful we'll be there and having lots of fun, as Dave said we lost last Saturday and we can't loose two in a row..............Can we:confused: Keep the faith people :D , Stu......you still got the shorts and dancing pumps..........then get dancing brother!

Brands and the Snow. Hi Martin, As I have a round trip of approx 600mls it would be really appreciated if you hear from Brands by Saturday (one way or the other) as it could save me from a bit of verbal from the Wife for wasting another week-end. She is still going on about last week-end (Mallory)been a long way to go just for a breakfast, which I must say was very good. ( she is only jealous because she can't cook. ) Hope to see you all next Monday. Cheers Trevor. :) :)

I'm a lot closer to brands than that, and I'm going to be about 5 miles away on Saturday, so I'll have a drive by and post about the conditions then. Someone i know who lives close by has around 7" of snow, so my fingers are well and truly crossed for warmer weather. Been looking forward to this for ages now!

But your probably the furthest away, the other thing that concerns me when things are like this is it clears up down South and the event goes ahead but people can't get out of their local area. I understand you guys up there are going to cop another lot today, no consolation I know, but here in Southampton area all we've seen is a few flakes last evening. That is the first time in 19 years we've seen snow this side of Christmas.........Yep Southern softie!! Lets keep our fingers crossed :)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Trouble maker^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ :D One of our instructors for Monday, Darren Burke, lives next to the circuit and has just sent me this, well the weather is so bad up here at the moment - we have at least 13 inches and it is still coming down. Saying that, it's meant to be raining Friday and Saturday! So we should be good by Monday!

I had intended going to Brands on Thursday to meet friends fron the IOW Car Club who were attending for their annual Track Day ..:) I dont think that event will happen unless MSV provide snow ploughs for them , and that assumes they can get to Brands .... It willl be a shame if they cant get there as they could help clear the track for us on Monday ... Bad news is we have another 3 " of snow in Eastbourne since 7pm and it is still falling .... And Brands forcast is even worse ..:( Steve , you had better pray even harder ... Eat your Brussel Sprouts and drink warm milk ...UGH .. And we will join in ...With the prayers that is .. Cheers .Gary & Dee ...

Well that was interesting, woke up to 6" of it this morning and can't get out of my estate  Most unusual for here, 1 1/2 hour walk to work and away we go for a fun day :D Both Met Offices forcasts for here and Maidstone shows it raining over weekend and Steve has his wish for Monday at the moment bright sunshine. I'm not even going to try and guess what is going to happen, just take it day by day. As soon as we know anything we will e-mail participants.
