Morning chaps. Just booked my place at Brands as I managed to miss it last year due to car problems :( Now how strict are their noise tests? I managed to scrape through Goodwood last year but that was rather close  Really looking forward to it now :D

Don't hold me to it Dan but you should be fine. Goodwood is 98dB static (96dB drive by at 10metres) and they are very strict about it. The Brands evening is 102 static - quite a lot more. Ah - wait a minute, my contract info says 102dB (105dB during the day) but we have 98dB in our booking info for Brands. Perhaps someone knows something I don't. Martin Charles is away today. Hopefully he'll clarify.

Martin didn't specify noise levels when he sent me the Brands details for the website. Consequently, I went by what it was last year. I do recall that Brands have different noise limits for evenings than daytime. Anyway, I'm sure Martin will check the contract and let us know. Either way, if you can scrape through Goodwood at 98db then you should be able to scrape through Brands Indy at 98db - theoretically!

Thanks guys :) I came in at Goodwood at 100db but they shaved 2 off saying something about it's mid engine so they can do that  I hope the SS flexipipe hasn't made it any/much louder :o I might pop up there on Tuesday as they're doing an open track day and see if someone will test the car for me, I'd imagine someone there would know about the evening?

These b****y circuits are always changing things.

Its been moved in the right direction though. I might struggle at 98db but 102db will be fine.:) They sometimes make allowances for Mid engined cars due to the proximity of the engine and transmission to the meter itself. In a front engined car you have bulkheads, seats and whole lot of bodywork to muffle the engine noise but obviously not in a Mid engined layout. ;) Martin

Awesome :D I should hopefully be ok then. I've also booked my helmet in advance this time ;) Bit too close for comfort at Goodwood as to whether I'd manage to get one  Now to get everything done ready on my week off of work
