Hi Martin,
Welcome to your first track event with us.
I have resereved you an instruction slot, you can pay me on the night.
There will be no instruction in the first 15 minute session as that is the sighting laps behind a course car. You get to know the position of the marshall posts and lights and the line by following it around. It should then pull off after three laps and you get the remainder of the session.
Look forward to meeting you,
Martin.

I'd just like to say that booking the instructor was the best £20 I've spent in a long time. He didn't say much, but what he did say transformed my lap.

In the interest of not getting lynched by our lovely Treasurer Fran  , I should point out it was even better value than Martin imagined because I only charged him £10 .
It is fair to say though that instruction has been £10 since "God was a boy" and reluctantly we are going to have to raise the price to £15. But as Martin has found out it really is the most cost effective way of improving how quickly you get around any circuit. The tips quite often include things which can improve your road technique as well.
I'm surprised he didn't say much, Neil is usually quite chatty, did you get terribly sideways :p

No hairy moments. He made a point of praising me on my progressive braking technique which was nice to hear. I wasn't pushing too hard throughout. I wanted a good experience with my car in tact at the end.
He let me do a lap before really saying anything, obviously assessing my driving, then gave me specific pointers which I took on board and the laps got better and better. Unfortunately my brakes overheated at the end and I glazed the pads, so my last session was spent coasting around not using the brakes very much and generally getting passed by everyone.
It was £10, I'm sorry, you're absolutely right. Great value.
