The TF needs some new boots after the Missus shredding the current ones at Goodwood. What does the forum recommend for a TF 160? Goodyear GSD2s are still availalble and OEM fitment, but I recall some good reports about Toyo Proxes T1s. Any comments or recommendations? BTW marvellous day at Goodwood with great organisation. All three of us enjoyed it and my daughter now has the bug! Rgds, Paul:p

My personal preference is for GSD2's or GSD3's all round (all one type that is!). If you're going for the Toyo's, the T1R replaced the T1S, and has a stronger sidewall. There are some excellent reports around for these. Personally, I only ran them on my old F and whilst a good road tyre under virtually all conditions in terms of responsiveness and steering feedback, I hated their performance on track as the graining/beading was terrible. Totally spoiled my TD experiences, although that was about 4/5 years ago now.

Nice legs! I thought I had read that GSD3s were not as suitable as 2s. Track use less of an issue - 'er indoors uses it to go to work most of the time and road performance is probably more important, especially in the wet. Longevity less imprtant than overall grip. The road tyres on the ZR are particularly c**p but I can't get them to wear out! If only I could do a few laps of Thruxton with them... Rgds, Paul

MGR issued a warning about GDS3s - they must not be fitted to MGFs. Having seen a couple of Fs with these tyres fitted, I can state categorically that these tyres are unsafe for use on an F.

Had GS-D3s all round on my F with no problem whatsoever - a good tyre. Not as good as the Bridgestone S02 -- but now these are next to impossible to get hold of. Now got Toyo T1Rs. Let's see how I go with these... Next time? Might investigate Michelins...

In the event of an incident the last thing you need is a 'on the ball' insurance company refusing to pay out. Stu:D

I certainly prefer GSD2s or Toyos but fitted GSD3s in September because I couldn't get anything else. They've done Combe, Oulton and Brands. Up till now they've been OK but not great. :D Yesterday was a lack of talent, possibly compounded by a sticking tyre pressure gauge on my inflator. :D Credit Xtreme photography. Chrissie took great pleasure in Nick being on the spot and ceremoniously handed me a CD. Thought I'd post it before anyone else did.

What needs to be said ???? 11 out of 10 for parallel wheel tracks .. Another 10/10 for heading straight for the tyre wall ... This piccie should be posted in the Gallery ...One of the best we've had .. Cheers ..Gary & Dee ....
