Hi everyone, I'm really sorry to have to let you all know that out track day at Donington has been cancelled by the circuit. Many of you will know that the circuit was due to close mid October for the work to begin on the track in anticipation of the 2010 British Grand Prix. Unfortunately, yesterday at 3pm, Donington's management announced to their staff that they had agreed with their contractors to bring that forward by one month. The circuit will now close on Sept 14th just one week before our track day. To be fair to Donington staff they have tried to get us an alternative venue for the same date, but unfortunately nothing was viable. Consequently, with great regret we have accepted that we will just have to cancel the entire day. As it is the circuit's decision we will get a full refund, including our hefty deposit paid in the early part of the year, allowing us to refund all of you in full also. Our Treasurer will do this as soon as she can. The monies will be refunded to whatever card you used to pay for the day. It is most disappointing for all of us. I know many of you had looked forward to driving the existing circuit one last time before the changes. Though no consolation, it is the first time that a circuit has ever had to cancel one of our days in the last six years. I just hope that we can still afford to go back to Donny when they have rebuilt the circuit and have inevitably put up their prices. Rest assured that our intrepid Hon Sec will be trying to use this situation to our best advantage in future negotiations. Kind regards, Dave

Oh no! I was really fired up for Donington this year. I'd had someone go in the back of my zed so I missed Silverstone while it was being repaired. I'd had it totally resprayed too :) Thanks for the prompt notice Dave I do hope we're lucky enough to secure some bookings for next year.

I was really looking forward to driving the "proper" Donington before it - hopefully - gets mucked about with. I shall just have to really go for it at the Combe instead!
