Another great day A big thanks to Steve our official organiser on this one.. A windy day kept the enormous rain clouds blowing through and we only got a 15min down pour right and the start of the lunch break meaning apart from our friends at Honda on track who were the first session out, We all had a sticky dry track to play on !! Once again the track etiquette of our members was exemplary, I don't think we had any issues brought to our attention at all, and not one stoppage I am aware of. A big thank you to you all. Apologies for things running a bit late after lunch, Castle Combe had the BBC there filming with Peter Jones (Dragons Den fame) and the filming ran about 10mins late after lunch. Castle Combe management did say we could run 10 mins late at the end to get the time back but obviously didn't convey this properly to the marshals hence we did actually loose about 10mins track time split across all 4 sessions. It was beyond our control, and we have taken it up with the circuit management. On the whole though I think we all had adequate time on track and from what i could see there were lots of smiling faces in the paddock area..:D On a more frustrating note , I arrived home with the engine sounding awful, and once switched off it wouldn't start to even get it in the garage,, It sounds very expensive !!! See you all again soon Stu

OMG. Sorry to hear about your car Stu. Hope it turns out to be something trivial. I'll use your post text to create a news item for the home page tomorrow. Any one got a suitable photo for it. The gallery is bereft :(

Stu, One time when I had a VERY rattly engine it turned out that one of the spark plugs had come loose. Worth having a look. Tim

Tim
Update Cam belt was nearly off looks like a brand new tensioner has failed.. The only possible bit of good news is that i think it skipped off when i tried to restart it once at home so it was only turned over briefly with the starter motor an i stopped immediately.:o We are going to strip it right down in a few weeks time all being well Stu

Sounds like you got lucky. Hope so. With the belt back on and alligned, a compression test will show if you have bent anything.

Hi, I'm Stu from Hondas-On-track. Just wanted to say thaks for a good day out - no stoppages all round despite the wet/dry/wet track after lunch. Instruction was very good on the day with lots of the Honda folk heaping praise on Darren and Jamie(?) Look forward to seeing some of you at Xmas at Brands when I think we're sharing the day with you again. Cheers for now Stu H.O.T Committee (White Integra with Orange wheels)

Hi Stu, Glad you and your peole enjoyed the day and the instructors. We certainly appreciated you guys drying the track for us after the shower :D Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see any of your sessions, but from what I saw in the paddock, they're were some very well prepared "Rice Rockets" there. Look forward to seeing you all back in December.

The Civic in front of me in the clip was running on some seriously worn Yoko A048's that aren't very good on kerbs or standing water  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoL2eXmwuRA We did have a few cracking cars with us. Hopefully we'll get to see more of each others sessions Brands as its easier to see the track from the pits and paddock :)

Hi Stu, Nice bit of action and I like your lines, very neat and consistant. But don't the other Honda's come with mirrors  ;) Look forward to catching up with you again at Brands, perhaps I could catch a ride to see the action for real. Cheers, Martin.

Its one of the great things about clubs like ours, you really know the people you share track time with and Mark (the civic driver) is a good mate;) give me a shout at Brands, I'm sure a passenger ride is more than possible :)
