Can any one advise regarding the eligibility of specials that are allowed to take part in MGOT Track days? This is on behalf of a mate who often comes to our events and really likes the format. Brian is looking to Design & build a one off road / track car totally from scratch that he can also use at MGOT events. He is looking to use an MGB engine and gear box, would this be sufficient to qualify or would it be necessary to also use other MG parts like suspension and brakes etc?? Any advice would be great! Many Thanks, Paul.:)

Hi Paul We do have a small number of drivers with MG powered specials. We generally welcome them to join in subject to our usual T&Cs http://www.mgs-on-track.com/t&cs The car will need to be road legal, ie MOT'd and run on road tyres, not slicks. Keep us posted on progress. Regards Steve Secretary MGoT

Hi Steve, Many thanks for the info, that’s great news for Brian, he is now the proud owner of a complete MGB engine including overdrive, gearbox and carbs etc. It will be interesting to see the car develop towards its first time out on the track. I am sure Brian will keep us posted with progress. His last project was a Ferrari P4 replica which is a great credit to his engineering skills, I am sure this latest project will be quite a special special! Thanks again, Paul. Hi Paul, Just to clarify - I've exchanged emails with Brian and also spoken with him (at Stoneleigh last Sunday). It will be a two year project and so we've agreed that he will get back to us once he has completed it. At present we wouldn't be able to accept a Lotus 7 style car even though it had MG powertrain. I've explained the rationale for this decision to Brian and he understands the situation. Brian looks forward to a few events with you in the meantime :) Regards, Dave
