27/01/2009 12:07:22 gavinsmith Hi Joe, I've seen both of these cars at Doug's at various stages - the silver C is lovely - exactly what I'd like, but in Aston racing green (and after a lottery win, obviously). My B is back on the road at last after sorting out the blown head gasket. I managed to do a fair bit of the work myself, with our good local village mech looking over my shoulder, so that was an education, and much more invloved than my usual oiling, greasing and checking tyre pressures. It was also a useful exercise in finding out what tools I didn't have! The pistonheads, valves, spark plugs and combustion chambers were very coked up when we took the head off, so I guess the car has been running too rich for a while. I tried to fiddle with the mixture to get it running as lean as possible, but I think I may need a bit of expert tuning input to get it more finely adjusted... Hope to catch up with you soon, Gavin
