Dave
I hope you’re looking forward to our North Weald Activity day on Friday 5th September. The day is very informal, unlike a track day. It is run for us by 1stLotus.com and our main man is Andy Walsh, a performance driving instructor with a wealth of experience and skill. I NEED YOUR HELP WITH ONE FORMALITY The only requirement before we begin is that Andy needs an emergency contact for both you and any 2nd driver or passenger you may bring. This is a name and telephone number to call in the event of an emergency. To make this formality easier to cope with, it would be really helpful if you could email this name and number in advance. ARRIVAL TIME Please arrive around 08.45. The directions and map are on our website at http://www.mgs-on-track.com/venue/18/north_weald.htm HOW THE DAY WORKS The day starts with a single activity - the 90 degree bend. Andy likes to see everyone go through this before we open up the second activity. Consequently, there will be a queue at the beginning. Don't worry, this soon sorts itself out once we've got two activities running. Please ask Andy for advice and guidance at any time about driving technique or car handling. That’s what this day is all about – a chance for you to explore your car in safety. LUNCH You can take lunch anytime you like, as the activities won't stop. I suggest the local pub - The Talbot. The address is 275 High Road, Tylers Green, North Weald CM16 6EE and it's a Beefeater, so on http://www.beefeater.co.uk However, use the bar menu rather than the restaurant, as the restaurant won't turn the food around quickly enough. Even using the bar menu, it would be best to stagger the lunch break - some going early around 12.00 and others later around 12.30 or even 13.00. REFRESHMENTS AND OTHER FACILITIES There is usually a tea/coffee van in attendance and portakabin style loos - nothing grand I'm afraid, but in good clean condition and we're responsible for keeping them that way! FINISH TIME The day's fun has to end at 4pm precisely. The control tower guys get upset if we carry on beyond then and poor old Andy gets it in the neck! They will also get upset if we don't stick to the 20mph limit on the perimeter road so please oblige. ANY QUESTIONS - DROP ME A LINE Either that or call me. Kind regards, Dave
