Many thanks to the people who came and admired my midget and enquired after my health after my trial of the new front mounted bonnet air brake - still some research work to do - such as lack of frontal vision when fully applied and consequent adaptation of bodywork - hope it didnt hold any of you up.
If you had a poor trip home in the rain spare a thought for my passenger waving his arm out the window clutching the remains of our wipers!
Oh and thanks to you guys for organising such another memorable day at Silverstone.

    Hi Roger,

    That looked hairy!!
My sister and I were stood on the pit wall watching when we heard a "foomph" sound and saw you go past with your head out of the side window and bonnet up.

I am glad you are ok and I hope the rest of your day wasn't that eventful :p

    Hi Roger,

Glad you're OK. You need some alloy bonnet pins. I fitted some to my B when I noticed the corners of the bonnet flapping around alarmingly at high speed. They do involve drilling through the bonnet, but I think it's worth it for peace of mind.

My B's had an engine rebuild, so it should go a tiny bit faster once it's had a final rolling road tune. I've still got a hundred or so miles of 'running in' to do first, but I hope to be back on track soon.

Glad you made it back safely Roger - did think of your lack of wipers - the suggestion to remove the windscreen may have been better. Definately no mods allowed for Rockingham but hope you make it

    Air brake Mods for Rockingham

Thanks Rog. Just ordered fibreglass bonnet and gonna fix it down with more bonnet pins than you can imagine - this ones going to stay down. Just need to take the screen off - take the dash out and attack the top shroud with something. Don't worry about Rockingham - I'll be there (not sure what colour the car will be?)

Heard about you indecent Roger, bad luck. Sorry I didn't get to speak to you.
Its definitely scary had the same thing happen in my youth - now that was a long tine ago - 848cc Mini screaming along 4 up, flat out at 80 on the Exeter bypass, suddenly BAM, where's the road gone. You did well to stay on.

    See you at Rockingham

    Hi Roger,
Pleased it all turned out ok! I was having a coffee in the restaurant when I saw you and your air brake on the monitors.
I had a similar thing happen with my B back in the 80s, I took the bonnet off and re-shaped it at the road side by jumping on it a few times. I still have that original bonnet fitted, although like Gavin I have also added some bonnet pins.
