MGoT Goodwood Revival

5th November 2007
It was very fitting that our day at Goodwood was the 5th November as it was on the same day in 2003 that MGoT ran it’s very first self managed track day. I’m not sure why it’s taken us so long to return to ‘Glorious Goodwood’ but this classic, super fast circuit provides a challenging day for drivers of all standards. Like so many circuits Goodwood began life as an airfield perimeter road and from this it derives its high speed shape. The whole track demands nerve and precision as some of our drivers will no doubt testify! There will be a more complete write up by our new ‘in house’ journalist, Rob Jones, in the December edition of Safety Fast, but simply to remind us all of our very first visit click here to read the write up from 2003. Sun cream needed at Donny on Oct 5th!

6th October 2007
Yes, who would have believed it - other than Stu, of course, with his confidence in his sun-dance! Shades and sun-block were the order of the day on Friday 5th October as MGoT took its annual trip to Donington Park. We had a great crowd of first-timers and novices who seem to have enjoyed their day at Donny as much as I did on my track-day debut - also at Donny. What a great circuit. There\'s a few comments already in the \'Pit Lane\' forum and plenty of photos in the Gallery, thanks to Jennie

North Weald - a first-timer tells the story

24th August 2007
North Weald is not a track day - it\'s an activity day run for us by performance driving instructor Andy Walsh of Apart from being great fun, the reason we do them is to encourage people who might be a bit nervous about the idea of a track day. If we ever doubted that they work, well - here\'s the proof. Read Jan\'s account of her very first MGs on Track event at North Weald on Friday 24th August 2007 - click the link below. With the 2007 calendar running down, I thought I\'d post links here to the track days we\'ve run already this year. This will give any new visitors a better view of MGs on Track activity. Click on the events to see The Pit Lane chat from the time.
We\'ll be planning for 2008 soon, so do let us know what you want. Same as this year or something different? If so what? Email any committee member - see contact details.

We were at Brands Hatch

23rd July 2007
Where were you at 6 o’clock on Tuesday the 19th July? Where ever you were and whatever you were doing, you could have joined the latest group of 20 MG novices as they took to the track at Brands Hatch. The Indy circuit at Brands sits in a natural bowl and has all the features to make it one of Britain ’s best driving experiences. Paddock Hill Bend , a fast right-hander with the exit dropping away, creating a real roller coaster of a ride, up the hill to Druids, a tight hairpin, down to Graham Hill Bend, up Cooper Straight followed by the fast Clark Curve exiting on to the Brabham Straight for the finish line.
